Ruby Slippers February 5 7-8 pm

Hey everybody

Into the second month of the new year...so far so good in the Tdot.

Almost afraid to turn on the weather channel in case it jinxes the moderate run we have had so far.

Anyhow, I digress.

So this week includes loads of new stuff including a cover of the EODM from the Play It Forward Campaign by none other than London Ontario's Buffalo Brothers. All sale proceeds from this collection go to the victims and their families affected by the attack on Paris.

Next week is a salute to V Day. Requests? (send them to me at carolbonciut@gmail.com)

I Love You All The Time ... Buffalo Brothers * (Play It Forward Campaign) (new cover)

Give Life Back To Music ... Daft Punk (my theme song)

Turn Me Up ... Eh440 *

Ka-Ching ... Die Mannequin *

Gatsby ... Olivia and the Creepy Crawlies *

I Don't Wanna Take It Out On You ... 1977 *

Song To The Siren ... Lights That Change  (new)

Winter Tale ... Ummagma (new) *

I.P.S. (I Forgot The Words) ... Vernier * (new)

Winter To Summer ... Rend *

He's Planning His Funeral ... James Collins *

Spread the Love ... Spectre Hearts *

Wailing Wall ... Young Galaxy *

Hero and Heroine ... Strawbs (just because)

Govinda ... Stella Diana (new)

And there's loads more where that came from. Guess we will just have to wait.

Thanks for listening.

Ruby Slippers January 22 7-8 pm

Hey everybody

First of all, thanks for dropping by. After last week's rage against the universe, I think the playlist this time is more uplifting. Loads of new stuff, upbeat, danceable. And I even have a book to recommend to you.

If you are a fan of the history of new music, David Cavanagh's "Good Night and Good Riddance: How 35 Years of John Peel Helped to Shape Modern Life" is for you. A committment at over 600 pages, it nonetheless is extremely hard to put down. Peel remains an inspiration to DJs everywhere and remained relevant throughout his long career. As I have been reading it, I have felt compelled to jot down band after band with an eye to following up on them in the months ahead.

In the meantime, here's the list for this week. Hope you enjoy it.

Devil In Disguise ... Autumn Kings * (Windsor Ontario...new)
Get Outa My Way ... The Laughing Dogs
When Time Will Slow Down ... Mother Leads * (new)
Endless ... Within Rust * (new)
Post-Apocalypteacakes ... Hologram Teen (relatively new)
Intro Song/Fall Back To Earth ... Black Cloud *
Rain Cloud ... Slow Spirit *
Tea, Milk & Honey ... Oh Pep! (Australia)
On Our Own (Alt Teaser) ... Dead Day Revolution (listener band recommendation)
Windfall ... Dead Can Dance (Australia)
It Was Nothing ... Meter Bridge * (new)
Plates 2 ... Aero Flynn
Keep On Dancing ... We Are The City * (new)
Barry Was An Arm's Dealer ... Rodnew Cromwell (new)

Next week, DJ Nico will be at the helm as I am finally going to see Lisa Fischer in concert.

Will report back Feb. 5! Cheers!!!
